Barn Swallows Aloft-Chicks First Flight

By Daisy on June 21, 2022 9:08 am

I have yearly Barn Swallow Lodgers in my garage.  I open the door early in the morning so they can get out and catch bugs! I am privileged to watch them raise their chicks each year.  They line up on a wire to listen to me play the flute!  They have a really fun flight pattern and often will swoop around my head as I stand and play. They Know me. This piece is about these birds as they joyfully swoop around!  They are a bit silly!

Good vibes in this tune! Made me smile smile

So fun and playful! I absolutely love the glissando pitch slides. Some moments are daring and others are tentative - just as I would imagine chicks' first flight! We have chickadees who visit and nest on our back deck each spring and it's a joy to watch their progeny poke their little heads out and take their first leap smile

You're a legit Disney princess.
