Week 24: we can go speedier, trashier, and more ambient.

Also I've been bad at responding to comments (sorry!) but there have been some questions about a few parts of how I've been doing this M8 speedtrash ambient. Basically I'll just do a quick render sample of either internal M8 stuff or an external synth (sometimes TEO-5, today was the iPad Korg M1 app), often pitched up before recording. Then I'll pitch down the sample, downsample it somewhere between 2-4 times (there's not exact number, it's by ear), then I'll put a drunk LFO on the pitch just a tiny little bit to give it that tape warble, and I'll add more stuff and repeat the process several times over. If you're enjoying these little things, great! I'm glad. They're lazy but they've been fun to make. If you haven't been enjoying them, I think there are still 200+ other tracks each week that you could probably go check out big_smile

Be well, friends!

Smooth. You could let this go for another 3-4 mins, it is easy to just "phase out" on those cool airy pads and 1m30 feels a bit short to me!

Fun stuff.

Nice! Interesting to read the process. Thanks for explaining it in such detail! The results sure sound great. smile

Beautiful ambience dadboy! Sometimes the quickest solutions turn out way more beautifully than we give them credit for. I'm glad I got to hear this one this week. big_smile
