Summer Child

By CTRL DEL on January 18, 2026 10:24 pm

I was born in the summer but summer still seems a long while away. Guess I squeezed out my last bit of inspiration right before ending and naming the song.

I wanted to explore indie drums but finding some free indie drums was harder then I thought. If anyone has any (free) recommendations please let me know. I'm still new to this and can use some directions.

I also really did not want to stress my workflow in any way. I notice in last weeks project that I rushed the guitar melodies and felt that in the end result. That's also why the beat is a lot slower than I would normally do, to calm down my ADHD brain. I want to explore the indie theme a little more and try some singing but I do feel very awkward about this.
Anyway I'm pretty proud on this little song by putting some material in I played for myself for years but never did anything with it. Looking forward to mess around with some indie next week:)

smooth

Really calming. Gives me Mac Demarco vibes with the wah/flanger thing (sorry idk guitar sounds)

I like the watery wah guitar! esp in second half!

PS it's always summer somewhere!

Haha no worries. First starts with uni vibe/vibrato and later it's wah/univibe.
I nodded a Behringer Ultra vibrato and soldered the univibe myself

Thanks!

That wah-wah in the second part is fantastic, for sure. Very chill vibe to this
