Plane ol M8

By cTrix on February 1, 2026 2:27 pm

Written in airport on a flight from Syd to Melb then finished Sunday night.  Late.

It needs more melody in the middle, builds and structure reworking, better drums….  Basically I ran out of time!  This is a Version 0.5 tune for me… before the tidy up. I like the chorus tho.  And the later breakdown would expand well.

But it's a boppy synth thing on the M8 for yo Monday,  Enjoy! x

Plane ol’ awesome! This here is some proper Aerodrome of The Future BGM!
Has kind of a Mitch Murder vibe to it.
Look forward to V1.0!

Reminds me of some A for Amiga tracks. Nice track, my head was boppin'!

Nice subtle chromaticism in those bridge chord stabs.

Why can I picture the live action ninja toitles saying bodacious and tubular colloquialisms to this?

Total late 80s early 90s movie intro vibes!   One Hit Kill summed it up above when he said he could see the Ninja Turtles set to this.   Great work

All my music stays at the v0.5 stage, so I see no problems here. Mitch Murder would slap this on a release as is as well, I'm sure. I just gotta grin when I went here to comment and I see the very first comment mentions Mitch Murder already.

Excellent '80s vibe. No notes. Five stars.

Gorgeous in every way cTrix! This is Josh by the way, you are an inspiration!

What a bop!!

Sounds like pretty classic cTrix for sure! Really dig the chords with the tremelo-y thing and that string-pad sounding patch in the background. Super cool for a v0.5 track.

This goes! Classic VHS intro style vibes.
Keep it funky M8 heart

Yup, that sounds like ctrix's tight tracking in action smile

The intro made me think of the teenage mutant ninja turtles theme from the first movie at first. It becomes very much its own thing of course. Very fresh.

dope! successful plane landing and takeoff in difficult weather montage type beat

Thanks everyone.  This one was a struggle.  (This week a bit uninspired too)

bro this came again in the random playlist and I just had to come by and leave a comment. lo and behold it's you again.

So many fun instruments in there! And then that slippy lead just takes off. heart

The one constant in Weekly Beats is not having enough time — we’ve all been there. But don’t be too hard on yourself. What’s important is what we focus on in the time we have and what we learn from what we have to abandon. This track feels to me like proof you’ve got the first part down. And I’m betting next week is going to be better from the second.

I really like how it develops and the bass line is very nice!

Those Juno-esque chord/stabs are delicious. Mind if I sample 'em?

The whole string part at aroung the 1:00 minute mark is great. Quite groovy and somewhat 80s inspired yet doing its own thing. Excellent track, no doubt.

Undeniably a classic ctrix tune. Groove, melody, punchy bass, it's all there. Such a warm and crunchy sound from the M8 too. Very impressive, even if you were feeling uninspired, this idea feels very well-formed to me!

Definitely has some room, but that stuff that's there is a good bop already
