Talk in Dreams (a place where I...)

By Crash Overture on April 19, 2026 5:53 am

First one I sang on.
This one took a little while, I started with the guitar part on Monday, playing with the different autotunes, and then improv-ed a song over top. Which was both done on paper, and then a couple of improv performances -- my best was singing in the factory and then promptly forgetting the lyrics when I went to record it on my phone and swearing into my phone a lot over the noise of the factory in my frustration. Anyway it's all chorus, but I sang. I did I made a song with words. When i went to record the vocals, I was also trying not to wake anyone up, so I had to sing very quietly. I had hoped people would leave the house, but nope.... Maybe next time I'll record the vocals in my car so I can be as loud as I please. So mostly done on headphones and my soundbar doesn't seem to like some of my choices, but well I got things to do. I used a small rode mic I had for doing lego videos. Used a lead pop vocal, and then two extras so I could set a bit of distortion back up vocals.  Also took Continuous Nonlinearities suggestion of playing with the drums seriously, so I did.

**I had hoped to get home early to do another record of the lead vocals, but yeah, did not make it. So there it is.

Beautiful, a wonderful vocal debut. Can totally relate to the challenges of finding time space quiet and privacy in which to record, but even the quiet parts here sound expressive and well performed, and the lyrics are very impactful. Amazing work.

You may not have had the ideal situation to record your vocal, but the breathy quality imparted by trying to not be too loud lends itself very well to the mood. Very nice.

you did it, hell yes! lovely song, and your singing really conveys a lot of feeling. congrats, for real.  heart

Really nice guitar sound, lots of chime to it.

The hushed vocals add to the vibe so sometimes constraints add to creativity.

Thank you! Glad the need for quiet worked.

Thank you! Garageband is surprising in how much you can play with the sound.

i hope you can find a space you feel more comfortable to record in - though the limitations when creating sometimes have their own magic creative friction though eh?

beautiful/soulful piece heart
