Yawning Chasm

By Cosmic Cairns on May 17, 2024 6:26 pm

It's been a bit of a weird past few weeks and my focus is all over the place.  I didn't spend a ton of time on this one, but I actually think it turned out pretty cool.  Mostly just played around with the iris2 virtual synth and the microkorg.

Also, I didn't make this, but here's a flyer for the show I'm playing this Friday:

Love the pulsing synth that kicks it off. The second synth that comes in over the top harmonizes well with it. I dig it! Excited to hear how your show goes Friday, you're gonna kill it

Great track to welcome the troupe of aliens that come to your gig on Friday. Have fun.

i like this weird!
have a great show, that flyer rules  heart

This is bad ass! It's a dense hit to the soul! I

Sweet wavy synth feels with those vocal_like_leads that give such spacey vibes.

Thanks!  Sometimes it's fun to just pile synths on each other.

I think I may have summoned a few aliens!  There were a few strange looking audience members.

Thanks!  They actually gave me a high quality poster version of that flyer at the show.  It's for sure the best memento of a show I've ever gotten.

Thanks!  It was a little short and sweet, but it did feel like I was channeling something.

The show went pretty good.  It wasn't flawless, but I didn't really expect it to be considering it was my first live set in ages.  It felt good to just get up there and play a few songs though.  Thanks for the support!

Thanks!  It's fun to just piece those sounds together and see what happens.

i like this hardcore electro version of you

the "talking synth" is really cool, the high lead is really cool when it does that descending two note maneuver

specifically the four notes that start at 1:56

any video of the show?

It is fun to mix things up and also to realize it's possible to make some cool stuff working in other modes.  My wife took a little bit of videos of the show.  Mostly snippets, but she did get almost all of one song.  I'll probably post it to youtube, just haven't gotten around to it yet.  Oh, also I gave you a shout-out at the show right before I played Frost Giant Wake Up Service.  I don't think it made it onto any of the video snippets unfortunately, but I did namedrop you to a bunch of semi-attentive drunk people!

OMG THAT IS SO COOL!  THANK YOU!

I looked up the bar's menu and they have vegetarian items so I already know what I'm going to get the next time you play and I fly out for it
