Wishing Well

By Cosmic Cairns on July 17, 2024 6:17 pm

This has been a rough week.  It was my birthday week, but three days before my birthday we had to say goodbye to our 15 year old dog Johnny.  He's been having some health issues for a little while now and has been having good days and bad days, but took a sudden downturn, and when we took him to the vet we found out he was in full renal failure.  So we had to let him go. He was very loved and has in some way inspired several WB tracks over the years including one I did way back in week 34 of 2016 called Barking at Byron, which was about how much joy he took in barking at my in-laws' neighbors' dog.

Anyway, I've been pretty sad and my heart wasn't totally into music this week, but I had this instrumental thing I'd already started and it was just kind of a matter of applying some finishing touches.  I called it Wishing Well because I'd love to make some wishes right now and also I'm wishing Johnny well on whatever comes next in his journey.

Very sad to hear of the end of Johnny…but it was certainly the right thing to do at that point. My sympathy and condolances. This track has somehow sad/happy vibe….i think it may perfectly encapsulate a lot of a loved dog’s life; funny, agile, loving, bittersweet, comical, serene… a great tribute!

So sorry to hear about Johnny.  I can relate to what you're feeling as I lost my Beanie a few days before my birthday in September of last year.  Wishing Well has happy good memory vibes to it with the playful melody bouncing around.  I hope you and your fam can look back on the good times.  heart

oh, what a sweet face. so sorry for your loss, Friend.
this Wishing Well feels like a very appropriate sendoff.
rest well, Johnny  heart

Such a sweet dog on the beach with that pink sand. I am so sorry for you, letting him go. I am sending you a brotherly hug and thank you for this joyful music.

That picture is so cute, I'm gonna cry. Sorry to hear about your loss sad My girlfriend and I were discussing yesterday how hard it will be when our dog goes...It's too sad to think about.

This track on the other hand, I can absolutely picture a soul or something flying through the junky cosmos looking for the next station to disembark at. I really enjoyed it smile

Oh my, I'm so so sorry to hear about Johnny. It sounds like he was deeply loved and cared for heart
Having to let go of these little companions is probably one of the hardest things we do.
Sending love and good vibes your way. And wishing both you and Johnny well.

Sorry for your loss!

This track was a beautiful way to celebrate.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.  I know loss is part of life, but it's my least favorite part.

Thanks!  I'm hanging in there, but still pretty sad.  We're definitely the sort who treat our pets like they're our kids, so it's a tough blow.  No worries about the lateness.  Thanks for playing catchup!
