Tito's With Ted

By Cosmic Cairns on September 18, 2018 10:37 pm

My girlfriend still has her favorite childhood teddy bear whose name is Ted.  Ted's been well loved and his body is starting to get a bit worn down.  We put a Hawaiian shirt on him to help protect him, which has the added bonus of making him look like a permanent vacation party animal.  Even before that we've had a long-running joke that on weekends and whenever we go on vacations Ted likes to go on alcoholic benders.  On one trip we had a bottle of Tito's vodka that apparently the lid wasn't screwed on tight and most of it managed to spill out.  Or that would be the rational explanation.  I still think Ted got into it.  At any rate it's become apparent that Tito's is Ted's favorite drink.  I had Ted come into the room when I recorded this and even wore a Hawaiian shirt myself to help with inspiration, ala Brian Wilson building a sandbox and making his musicians wear fire hats to put them in the proper frame of mind.  So anyway this was the result.  Hope you enjoy it and if you have a chance knock back a drink with an alcoholic teddy bear.

this indeed has some nice pacific holiday vibe to it... somehow this track makes me feel like listening to shortwave radio broadcasts in the night as a child

Perfect compo to go with your story, the lyrics are fun! I liked the bottles (at least I think they're bottles) in the middle as well, nice touch big_smile

Thanks for sharing.  It's always cool to hear what images are invoked!

Yeah, I used a little bit of vodka bottles in the middle there.  Thanks for listening!

A rousing party for the ears.

I love this. There is something unsober about the progression that makes me feel drunk.

We spiked the mix with a little vodka.  smile

Fun! I would totally put on a Hawaiian shirt and knock one back with Ted, sounds like a good time. Glad you made this enjoyable little ditty about that!

I gotta ask, what's with the drum track? It does give a nice lazy feel to it though.

I'm gonna go ahead and blame that on the vodka.

That's a pretty safe bet.
