Rotator

By Cosmic Cairns on November 9, 2022 8:57 pm

Felt like playing around a little with a loud chorus quiet verse structure this week.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This rotation is overwhelming and this nation is bringing me down
I can't hold on I keep spinning getting dizzy it's all too much

Stop!  Hey!  I want to think about it!
Stop!  Hey!  I want to get off!

Let me slow down and get my bearings feeling shell shocked and totally lost
This is the age of misinformation and no one cares what that might cost

Stop!  Hey!  I want to think about this!
Stop!  Hey!  I want to get off!

I don't remember just when this ride began to rotate round and around
I'm looking out there, there's no operator and no safety net to be found

Stop!  Hey!  I want to think about this!
Stop!  Hey!  I want to get off!

Love what you did to treat the voice in different sections, highlighted the larger-than-life feel of the 'stop! hey!' chorus. So great! heart

oh yeah!!! this is a fantastic song. you did put some new mixing skills and soundeffects into it. Somehow I have the feeling of knowing the song since forever, because everthing fits perfectly. maybe this was your best and consummate guitarsolo so far. love it.

Thanks!  It for sure felt necessary to differentiate the vocals in the different sections.

Thanks!  I took some influence from some 90's classics for this one.  Or at least that's what I had in mind.

I felt like it needed some kind of sound there so I ended up taking a little snippet of the vocal and looping it.

Awesome job. I too feel like I've heard this song before (or know the band).

Thanks!  I was going for a specific type of vibe from a lot of songs I've heard before, but now you guys have got me wondering if I actually accidentally pilfered a pre-existing song.  smile

Def feeling those 90s vibes ala the Pixies, Green Day with a dash of Beck on vocals.  The guitar has an excellent sound to it.  Nice fx on your vocals too. Especially the lift-off outro. smile

That's a very nice pop rock tune. I can definitely relate with meaning of the lyrics. I'm working in AI technologies and I feel we're riding the tiger... Great track, catchy chorus, great dynamics!

Nice! I got those 90's vibes Tone Matrix mentioned too. Love the vibe. Vocal processing is great!

Ripping guitar tone!  Definitely a 90s tip as others have mentioned.  Almost Dinosaur Jr in the choruses?  Lots of fun noises and cool ending!

Great energy and rawness! The vocal effects are excellent. Love that delay feedback towards the end.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly the feeling I was trying to capture.  Thanks for listening!

Thanks!  I really do wish I had a "pause" button for the world sometimes, if nothing else.

Thanks!  This seemed like a good one to play around with some different vocal effects.

Yeah, Dinosaur Jr. was definitely a fave of 90's me.  That probably creeped its way in here as well.

Thanks!  It was fun to get a little raw on this one.  It felt like it was missing a little something at the end, so I threw in that delay stuff.

feelin' this lovely tune!

Thanks!!!

I hear cake and the presidents of the United States of America and a little bit of Primus and a whole lot of cosmic cairns. Absolutely love the chorus, but the verses w/ the megaphone type effect are really perfect. Lovely work!

Those are some new comparison bands for me.  Always good to have some new ones to add to the list!  I tried to really differentiate the vocals on the verse and chorus on this one and the megaphone effect seemed like a good way to do it.
