Quite the Sorcerer

By Cosmic Cairns on April 3, 2024 7:13 pm

Just a guitar and synth based track.  There are some vocals, but I didn't feel like writing lyrics this week, so they're just some "ahs." Sometimes I think that's all that's really called for.

Real nice work here. Builds on itself in a real pleasant fashion.

An hypnotic multi layered track that could have gone on and on and on and I would not have minded.

love it, and yeah - the ahhs are perfect. the music tells the story, and you are...
ahem...
quite the sorcerer!

The song might have an end, but the feeling from it will stay very very much longer. the ahs make definitely the trick.

Thanks!  It's always fun figuring out the ingredients to add to these musical potions.

Maybe someday I'll have to do an extended ten minute version.  smile

Thanks!  I'm always trying to work on casting some new and interesting spells.

Sometimes a good ah is just what the doctor ordered.... they do ask you to say "ah" a lot.

I like the "ahhs"!

I'm intrigued by this track! It is interestingly sloppy and cohesive at the same time. Rhythmically it's kind of all over the place but it somehow works, no joke. It's got this raw feel to it that makes it feel genuine. It's an elusive quality!

Excellent, really enjoy that rhythmic synth line

a nice, positive wall-of-sound piece. The layers work together interestingly and there´s a nice drive throughout. Nice work!

I saw the title and almost said out loud: No, YOU'RE quite the sorcerer good sir! I dunno why. So I was a little hoping for a story about sorcerers. This is really enjoyable, full of magic fuzz and that sorcerer-ey synth. I like the backing vocals, it's a nice sorcerer

Very nice! Elicits a strong "indie film" vibe. Like, this is what would play during the intro reel where they are showing childhood/early adolescent footage of siblings growing up and being heartwarmingly close. And then the film starts with them confronting the reality that they will go to college and likely not be so close anymore.
Am I projecting a bit? Maybe. Maybe even more than just a bit. My point is: great track! Super evocative heart

Enjoyed the extra splashy ride cymbal driving the rhtyhm throughout.  With the guitars and your vocals building and building you've indeed conjured a wall of energizing sound.  Positive vibes felt! smile

I like your music, magic man.

I played the same guitar line 3 times and then decided to pull the tracks a little bit out of sync from each other.  That probably at least somewhat contributes to that feel.

Thanks!  Positive wall-of-sound is a good description!

Maybe I'll do another track later with a sorcerer story and this one can be a spellcasting part.  I still want to do a dragon themed track, so maybe they would all tie together somehow...

Thanks!  It's always cool to hear the sort of mental images tracks can evoke.  I can picture the scene you describe.

Wall of Energizing Sound would be a cool spell for like D&D or something.  Also a cool album name.  Thanks for listening!
