Orc Overeaters Anonymous

By Cosmic Cairns on March 17, 2020 11:24 am

Doing my best to ignore what's going on in the world and just focus on some silliness.  Almost all of the instrumentation on this one was done on the microkorg.  I drummed on my desk a little bit at the end and then I used my toy megaphone to add some orc-ish chatter.  It's the same toy megaphone I used back in week 5 when I did a song about a virus back when that was a quaint notion.  Hope everyone's safe and healthy out there!

Loves me some orc-ish chatter! Love the experimental rawness. Love the galloping rhythm. Orc likey!

smile Yeah the orcish  silliness is quite the right thing for times like this smile
I like the chopstick drums ...

Love the creativity. Sure is nice to have music when we’re forced inside.

Thanks!  This one was definitely fun.

One thing I've learned from all this is you can always turn to orcs to lift your spirits.

Music really is a gift that keeps on giving.

Cool track! Very Devo (I know I have said that before) Reading the descriptions of your comps makes me imagine you sitting in a room with random items that may or may not be used for music productions.  Kind of like the old theme restaurants in the 80s/90s that had randoms stuff hanging from the walls.  A tuba, a boat oar, maybe a popcorn tin and a toy megaphone.

The drumming on the desk in the second half sounds like a percussion track. Like all the chaos and distorted vocals.

I remember your virus track!  Who knew. Any other predictions we should looking out for? Are we now expecting orcs in several weeks?

I do have a large collection of musical instruments, but I'm also prone to grabbing things and seeing if I can get noise out of them.  Your image isn't too far off from the truth.

The virus is clearly the precursor to the orc invasion.  Now I need to write a song about winning the lottery...

This was fun to listen to. You should write an opera. I am looking forward to see the performance...then.

Orcs are awesome, thanks for this cheerful and fun track, it helps to forget the intense stuff around! heart

Yeah an opera would be fun.  Perhaps someday when there's less viruses on the loose.

Thanks for listening.  I'll take orcs over all the bad stuff in the news any day.

ORCS!

Are the Orcs overeaters, or are the persons "orc eaters"

This is silly and fun smile

very cool track.. anice bit of positive sillines indeed. Reminded me of some earlier stuff by the great band Cluster (especially the album Zuckerzeit). The megaphone and finger drumming work great here, just the right ingredient!

You are a fine desk drummer.

I think my original thought was that it was a support group for orcs.  But if you prefer to think of it as people that eat too many orcs, that totally works, too.

I remember giving a brief listen to Zuckerzeit many years ago, but maybe I need to go back and check it out some more.  Thanks for listening!

Thanks!  The desk was just sitting there and looked like it wanted to be drummed on, so I complied.

Thanks for the awesome gifs!

It's def essential to have distractions during these crazy times.  I really enjoyed the galloping bassline throughout.  The orc chatter reminded me a bit of the bug, Edgar from Men In Black haha smile  Well done!

Thanks!  I don't know how they did the voice of Edgar, but I just tried to talk in a gruff voice while running it through the toy megaphone.  Maybe they did the same thing?  smile

oh yes! I needed this. smile
