I think it's impressive when people are able to make an ambitious plan and accomplish it successfully.  But maybe it's more interesting when things don't quite succeed despite the best intentions.  Venturing from one's comfort zone probably results in failure way more than success, but nothing would happen at all if nobody ever tried.

I guess it's kind of obvious
This experiment won't work out
Call it a noble failure
No one knew what it was about

Looks like it's back to the drawing board
Maybe this time we'll get it
We've gone through so many notebooks
And triple-checked our equations
What's wrong?

We're not meeting expectations
And underperforming
Been at this a million years
But I guess that's hardly anything

I believe we have good intentions
But our ship just constantly sinks
I hope someday we get there
But until then it's worse than we think

A world full of noble failures
And many boats that never set sail
After all if you never try
There's no chance that you will fail
