Jack Frost All Stars

By Cosmic Cairns on January 31, 2018 12:23 am

I began with a simple piano improvisation and added a few ambient noises to the top.  Then as I was about to call it a day another part popped into my head so I created a second section that's quite different from the first, but hopefully complementary.  Then I thought there should be a third section so I grabbed the main theme from the second section, double tracked it but intentionally off-set it from itself a little bit to create a disorienting effect and built a whole new section around that.

That was neat! I like the use of atmospheric noise especially.

Something completly different this week. But soooo sweet!
The melody in the first part is just great and the efx and that mumble emphasizes the snow/winter feeling...
With the second and and third part i would say that you've created a complete disney soundtrack. Please take this as compliment i like most of them... ok maybe not lion king wink

i like it!

Thanks!  It seemed a little too sparse somehow with just the piano so I added the noise.

Thanks and I will take that as a compliment!  Not a huge fan of the lion king soundtrack either smile  Yeah, this was a bit different for me and I'm hoping to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit this year.  Glad to hear this one works okay.

  Thanks, man!

This must have been hard work to bring all those little ambient noises at the right places. The melodies are beautiful and played with a true feeling. Very enjoyable track.

Simple, yet heartfelt; nice contrast with the second section. Faved.

The ambient sounds work very well with the piano. I like how it changes completely in the second half and yet ties well together. Kudos

Lovely mood. Great melodies, I like that change up in second part a lot, it does tie with the first and works well. Good job.

It took a few tries before I liked the way it sounded, but not the worst thing I've ever wasted time slaving over on a track.  smile

Thanks!  Sometimes I think simple is better, even though I do enjoy some complex layered stuff sometimes too.  Depends on the track I guess and what it calls for!

Thanks, guys.  Yeah as mentioned the change up wasn't originally planned but more of a last minute burst of inspiration.  Glad to hear it works!

I know all about second sections. Or maybe I don't.

Love the different melodies (especially the second section) and how it unfurls towards the end.   An atmosphere of seasons changing smile  Nice job!

Second sections are awesome for sure.

Thanks!  It's funny because the first section was the original inspiration, but I think I like the second section better, too.

Really like how this changes and expands throughout. At the end I was hoping for another section :-) Great work!

Thanks!  Considering it was originally only going to be one section, it's nice to hear more sections could work.  Maybe I'll make a sequel track to this later this year.  smile

Would like to visit this place... there would be friendly creatures ... great!
