Haunted Corridors

By Cosmic Cairns on October 23, 2024 8:21 pm

I thought I'd go for something with a little bit of a Halloween feel this week.  It's an instrumental mostly using synths, but I threw in some musical saw, and recorded a little bit of a tape measure retracting.

Can't believe how close we're getting to the end of the year.  The swift passage of time is scarier than any Halloween creatures as far as I'm concerned.

"The swift passage of time is scarier than any Halloween creatures as far as I'm concerned." That's the truth! Fantastic halloween track!

Fun track, love all the wobbles! And I agree with cfurrow, a truer statement has never been said, "The swift passage of time is scarier than any Halloween creatures as far as I'm concerned." 🫡

The musical saw gave me visions of sttumbling into a house of mirrors yikes  Oooooh a tape measure! That has a spooky texture to it.  Yais time be sweeeeft!

The musical saw does the perfect job to imitate crying ghosts. Everything here is weird enough to get the official Halloween stamp. Well done and thanks for a moment of joy.

That saw does it all!  Put this on a loop in your front yard when the kids come by for treats!

this is super cool, CC!!

Oooh saw is perfect spooky sound. Halloween stamped for sure. Play it for the trick or treaters. Fun spooky but not horrifying enough to send them running. Cool change at 1 minute, a good new chapter, that has some good tension. Cool wonkiness at the end, rather unsettling. Happy Halloween!

I'm going to blast this for the trick or treaters lol killer!

Perfect Halloween sound track. We don’t get any visitors where I live but hope you got to blast this last evening.

I'm a big fan of found sounds, but haven't really been using them all that much recently.  I had a tape measure out for a project and it occurred to me it might sound cool to record it, and I liked the texture it added.

Thanks!  I do find the saw is a great channeler of spirits.  If I ever need some ghostly wails, I know where to turn.

Using musical saws to frighten children... always a good time!

Yeah spooky but not horrifying seems to me to be about the right Halloween vibe.  The wonkiness was fun for sure.

My neighborhood used to be great for Halloween, but a lot of the people who used to decorate and do stuff moved out and now the street is pretty dark except for my house and a couple others.  As a result we don't get too many trick or treaters anymore, but I still enjoy decorating.
