Hall of Mirrors

By Cosmic Cairns on June 20, 2018 1:32 am

I got a new toy that I played with a little bit this week.  It's a microkorg synth and vocoder.  Looks like it will have some cool sounds to play around with.  Otherwise this was originally a kind of acoustic based song I came up with that I decided to attach some synth sounds to since I wanted to give the microkorg a spin.  Hope you like it.

whoa! cool spacey folk vibe! absolutely love it, and nice work with the new hardware

Flower power man! even got a bit of a beatles vibe to it, imho! it's getting me all relaxed!

This is great! Definite Beatles sound to it. Great job!

Brings a smile to my face. The synth with the acoustic sounds give it an eclectic quality. Great palette of sounds, and as always, great vocal work. Maybe more Flaming Lips than Beatles?

Very good song!
The synth voices sound awesome with the guitar.
And i love that slapped beat big_smile

Sounds all CosmicCairns to me. Nice!

Thanks man.  Can't turn down a Beatles comparison.

I do dig me some Flaming Lips, too.  I can hear that a little bit.

Thanks!  I try to mix up percussion sources sometimes, so this time I actually slapped the back of my acoustic guitar.

  Certified CosmicCairns fresh.  smile

Very nice, enjoyed. synth is nice addition indeed.

A great summer night soundtrack. The synth works very well with the acoustic sounds.

Yeah I might have to play around some more with mixing acoustic and synth stuff.  Thanks for listening.

I'm getting a bouncy/folky Residents vibe from this.  Totally into it.

Hey thanks!  The Residents is, I think, a new comparison for me, but I'll take it!

Love the intro immediately giving a taste of the theme.  Super fun uplifting bass and guitar that bounces off the mirrors with those synth flares. Cool outro too with the guitar line sending us off into the vocoder!

I really like your vocals on this one. Glad you included the synth too it sounds great.

Thanks!  The intro was actually kind of a last minute idea, so glad to hear it works!

Thanks!  I think I could have made the song "work" as a more straight acoustic thing, but I had this brand new synth just laying around so I couldn't not try it out.  smile

Yes!! Fantastic tune and synth work.
