Asleep at the Wheel

I hope this isn't too similar to my other tracks and I'm not becoming formulaic.

Don't drink and drive, especially if you have psilocybin mushrooms in the car.  One person suffered a broken hip during the making of this song.

Super electronic i love it!

I think you made the right choice with not doing two patterns between the verse for surrre after giving it another listen . I can picture you playing this and laying those keys down on a Keytar in the beginning, between verses and chorus, and at the end.  Great track from beginning to end bud, nice work

Agreed, sleeping while driving isn't the greatest lol. Nice tune, the sound design fits the vocals really well. I feel like you can't be faulted for sounding similar if you're coming up with new lyrics! I really admire that.

Thanks, man.  Appreciate it.

Yeah I'm glad I gave you an early preview of this track to get some input on that.  I probably would have left it alone if we didn't talk about it on Saturday.  Definitely the right call.  Thanks brotha.

Thanks for the compliment.  I need to start listening to some different music to try and throw some different influences in there.  I've been listening to the Gorillaz wayyy too much lately and I feel like the influence of that has dominated my last three tracks.  Maybe next week I'll focus on going a whole different route.

Hope your friends recovering alright.  Very cool song man, that synth lead is so nasty.

Go for it! I'm building up a list of cool things to do this year. There are so many great tutorials for different styles on youtube, it's amazing.

Yacking robot. I love this. Great stuff my man

Homeboy is a couple of months sober now (off booze at least).  The broken hip was a passenger in one of these several instances.  Thanks for the compliments.

It really is amazing.  I've already learned a ton over these 5 weeks I've been a part of WB.  Credit to all those people who take the time to share their knowledge so freely.

LOL I was trying to remember how you described the synth...it's perfect.  Thanks, dude.

Awesome production value again, reminds me a bit of NIN actually. Perfect instrument choices and that progression is great.

Appreciate it, brotha.  I've never been into NIN, interesting that's what it reminds you of.  Is there a specific song you're thinking of or is it just in general?

I don't really listen to NIN either but, from what I've heard, I can sort of hear the vibe. They tend to do the driving kick, snare, kick, snare beat with the distant, low register vocals. Other than those two things it your song is its own thing and a bit more groovy than what you'd normally hear from NIN (which I think sound more aggressive). I enjoyed your track, excellent job smile

Also, your track name is kind of an opposite contrast to my track name this week tongue

I read this comment right when that effect came in. Hahaha.

Hell yea dude. Good call. I couldnt put my finger on it. I wanted to say like an electric Brand New feel AKA NIN.

lol yeah this is a pretty accurate recreation of what happened.

Thanks for your input and compliment!  And yes, we do have opposite track names this week.  Coincidence?

Welp I'm pretty happy if it made you think of Brand New!  Having listened to them for the last...I don't know, 15 years?  They're definitely one of my biggest influences.  I haven't listened to them in a while but the influence still crept in I guess.

Track so boring it made you fall asleep at the wheel?  Or just posting because of relevance?

just in general, yeah Brand New NIN is pretty accurate

Not sure what the robot signifies, but I'm glad he's here with us.

I love the flangy drums so much. Also agree with the NiN comment, it really does give me some reznor vibes. Newer stuff like The Slip onwards. Might want to check out Echoplex off The Slip if you haven't heard it. It's not VERY close, but it's got a similar vibe in some ways.

Cool!  Thanks for the input, I'll check it out.  Glad you liked the track

This is really just fucking good man. All the elements are great. I can't believe I missed this. Nice job.
