Machines build memories

By Continuous Nonlinearities on June 14, 2026 11:49 pm

Inspired by an ad on the subway reading "Where old machines build new memories", about Black Creek Pioneer Village. I don't usually do vocal work but this gave me something interesting to work with.

Mostly Pulsar-23 and Digitakt, with Prophet for the arpeggiated notes and Ensoniq ESQ-1 for the pads. Originally I had some guitar parts adding noise but it was too much, and I found I liked it better without them. But: without them it was a little too empty. So I recorded some poorly-grounded hisses and noise through my Lossy pedal for a bit of texture. And ran out of time.

I like a lot about this but I feel like there's still something missing or some bit of work that is still needed. Not sure what yet but again, I've run out of time, so this is the version.

It really fits the line. I quite like it. It's got good gothy moody and the vocals work well.
