still, spring

Back to basics. This is a very easy piece that I wrote using only paper and pencil (and the lute). Honestly, it's not that great -- phrasing is almost nonexistent, and the blunt bass notes are too loud. But hey. I'm trying to get better at composing and playing simple polyphonic music on the lute without having to resort to multi tracking, and I played this up and down last week a bunch of times. Recorded in one take and without metronome. Oh and in a way, and in Ohio, it's getting to be Spring. Still.

Nice work Mr Grey.

Have you looked at cantus firmus and species counterpoint at all?

Well, I for one, am impressed that this was done in one take.  And the lute sounds beautiful.

Your lute sounds amazing as always.

Quite impressive for a one take work. Beautiful piece, as usual. Evocative of a warm spring morning. Don't know how Ohio actually looks, but I hope your garden will be like this:

Sorry for being quite silent this week, Christian. Being back at work it's being hard sad

that is beautiful (as usual)!

Wonderful! I imagine eating breakfast in a little cozy shop smile

This is wonderful

A beautiful piece of music.

Pretty!

Lovely composition.

I'm getting there. My teacher mentioned it to me a couple of weeks ago. Seems freaky to me, but I'll probably post something along those lines this year... Thanks for listening!
