almost nothing II (paranormal science)

By colorful grey on May 25, 2024 6:30 am

in this track, almost nothing happens, but in a pleasant way.

paul-stretched 1990 tape recording of a yamaha b200 4-operator FM synth.

the voice sample in the beginning is from wikimedia commons so i assume it's free to use. it's a lady explaining that she used to be a homeopathic doctor but is now working for the german skeptics' society to help debunk pseudoscience.

i had an entire arrangement of multiple sample tracks, drums, FX, granular stuff etc. with the tape stretch sample, but in the end i went with just the long tonal sample and her voice.

hope you enjoy as much as i did.

Great choice of sample smile Love the atmosphere.

Pretty nice atmosphere you built here, mate. I really was intrigued about the feedback-ish drone around the middle of the piece. Listening this on headphones under a soft breeze in the early morning, I closed my eyes and it was so soothing.

Now I'm twice as angry at my workmate, breaking my calm moment with his 3-seconds-attention-span infinite TikTok streaming in his loud phone... Anyway, great moments encapsulated.

I surely will go back to this smile
