Another format that I've been thinking about is the 'artist studies', I get inspired by a lot of music here on weeklybeats and I thought it would be a cool idea to create something every once in a while inspired by another artist, in this case it was Celio Morya. I love his fusion of techno and psy with oriental instruments, it works really well and he is very good at it! Unfortunately I did not have much time this week to explore his genre but I'm quite happy on how the mix turned out, even tho the mood is quite on the dark side and could probably get some high freq love, I still feel everything is well balanced!
The volume is a bit lower than my usual over the top but maybe more enjoybale thanks to the air in the dynamic range, I used the dj filter on the m8 to sweep through frequencies and it surprisingly helped me quite a lot into gain staging kick and bass early on, an interesting technique I might use more often.

Thank you for listening!!

render straight out of the m8 heart

great job. I think it's super impressive that you got this quality track with a new genre and without a ton of time. felt very cohesive.

This is a cool song, and I think you hit the brief.

Spot on about ideas cropping up while listening to weeklybeats

MANNNNN this is greattttt if you came out with something this good without time im wondering what can you pull up with time !!! to be honest you and neon liminal are the ones who make me push every week !!! one of these days we have to do something together the 3 of us !!! sadly this coming week it will be the last track for a while posting here for a full month. !!! ill be embracing a project in a big festival here in portugal called WAKING LIFE witch im responsible to make a structure to cover 27,000 m2 of shade !!! so i wont have time to commit to weekly beats ...

Thanks a lot! I'm so happy to hear the mix works, I really liked how it turned out I feel I learned a bit more how to handle it on the m8 heart

Superb clean mix, sounds absolutely huge and punchy while keeping great sense of dynamics.
Love the airy transients, full on earcandy. Amazing work!

Sweet beat! I like the pitch-bendy choir pad you sprinkle throughout, and the way you chop it as the track goes on. Very catchy!

Awesome. Plenty of loudness and the dynamics are great and crisp clear mix, M8 is such an incredible tool. I really enjoy how many vocal chops and samples you push into the mix and obscure and distort into these incredible melodic motifs, they fuse with the synth elements perfectly. Really excellent track heart

killer track!

Wow really great mix, crazy what you got out of the M8!

Thank you! I felt the voices would add that etheral feel to it, but choppin' them would ground them into something more industrial/technological and so electronic, I felt it was a nice mix/contrast!

Thanks a lot!! I'm super glad you liked it heart The m8 is indeed the best, the eqs are game changer, to think we have eqs for each instrument is crazy, I think the only thing I'm missing is to step sequence them, I was planning into getting an external controller to do that especially for performance, but if we get the ability to sequence them directly inside it would be the complete machine

Super solid track. As a big fan of Celio_Morya myself I can really see the inspiration here. Mix is top notch and the use of the vocal samples really nice.
