improv 10 — machinery groove

improvising for Weekly Beats
my self-imposed limitations:

• digital piano as an input device (Yamaha P35)
• moderately limited warm-up before the recording
• no edits after the recording is made
• four VSTs for the year, one for each season

doing this to explore improvisation as a practice of being here and now

this sound and melody structuring are also new and unusual for me
imagine industry machines rave while we sleep

spring VST: Lumikko by Native Instruments

Cool idea!

love those deep tuba flares in the lower notes smile

I honestly wouldn't say no to polyphony instead of all this portamento.

I didn't expect this vst to be monophonic so it's kinda lame, yeah.
On the other note, I tend to overuse chords and arpeggios when it's poly.
Thanks for being honest!
