Went back to the MPC, made a couple of sequences from chopped samples and let them sit for a few days. Then played this arrangement direct to tape. I wander around the gear world a lot but end up coming back to the MPC.

Boom, January complete! Those starting elements sounded like '70s nature documentaries. Actually, the rest as well. And with that lofi beat... a distinct Boards of Canada vibe that I really like. A few children voice samples here and there and this would be indistinguishable from tracks on "Music Has the Right to Children".
I'd say lean into it, this is very good stuff.
