The Oracle

By Claxon on May 27, 2018 10:11 pm

This track is a very personal one: My mother was in the hospital awaiting open heart surgery (she's fine now big_smile) and I was at work the evening before surgery. That's when I made this track and it really captures my emotions at the time: Very uncertain about what's coming, but somehow calm and at peace with whatever that would be. I asked a friend to play bass on this and though it sounded really cool it just didn't get the emotion across that the original (a bit boring) bass has.

I started weeklybeats because I needed to get over my perfectionism and just release my stuff. This track is why I needed to get over said perfectionism. I have grown in both production value and am no longer afraid to put my tracks out there. Therefore my main weeklybeats goal is done: I can finally release this track.

I kept with the Matrix theme even now, although I'm still considering calling this track Rhea (Greek mythology) cause you know, It's about my mother and Rhea is the mother of Zeus. The oracle fits too though, she's the mother of the matrix.

Great stuff, classic Claxon!

It's always nice to know when you've grown as an artist.

I really like this track!

Yay to your mom healing & to achieving your goal/feeling more confident!
