Week 7
2/10 Goal at start:
Make multiple beat prototypes and pick one to move forward with.
Continue to focus on rhythm.
Try to do vibe and genre checks and get something that sounds as close to digicore as you’re able to get.

2/13
I succeeded in making a total of 3 prototype beats this week, but by the time I picked one to move forward with it was Friday and I was out of time so I barely scraped this one through and there’s virtually no mixing done on it.
My other goal was to make digicore which I think I actually got much closer to with my other two prototype beats, but ran with this one because I thought it was the one I was most likely to be able to finish in the two hours I had left. Also holy hell, I always fail hard at kick placement. I need to come up with a strategy for how to improve on that.

Action plan for next week:
Despite the chaos that was this week I think I’m going to repeat the process of making multiple prototype beats. I think I learned some things by pushing myself to make more faster, if I can just figure out how to not be stranded by Friday. However, I might try an alternate strategy of moving with the first beat forward to completion while dividing my time to tinker with other rougher project files. I think that would help me learn faster. We’ll see.
As for improving kick placement, still not sure how to approach this yet.

Hey it's not a big deal, but just a comment that this is very quiet relative to most other tracks on here. I don't think mixing should be anyone's priority, but maybe check your levels to give next week's track a bit more impact. I hope that's helpful.

Come to think of it, I don't think I did any mastering on this all...
