Week 11

Goal at start 3/10:
Focus on trying multiple melody and rhythm ideas until I get closer to something that sounds like my genre target.
Also get at least 2 good practice sessions in outside of making this beat.

End notes 3/13:
I think I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. One thing that helped this week was using a reference song for kick placement. I suspect tempo and kick placement might be the key to starting a song and having it sound closer to my intended genre.
My goal was to do practice sessions outside of working on the main beat. I kind of halfway achieved that because I used the time to work on some dungeon synth songs for a side project rather than practice digicore/ambient plugg.

Action plan for next week:
I need to keep finessing my schedule until I can figure out how to get the extra practice sessions in. That said, I’ve been thinking about just what the goal of those extra sessions should be. My plan for now is to practice making 17 bar loops and focus on layers without worrying about building it out to a full beat. I’ll try again next week to get in at least 2 such sessions in addition to working on my dungeon synth side project and my weekly beats beat.

Great rhythm, love that scratchy lead sound. Great space and mixing!
