Yesterdays Cessation

By Chrisfoo on October 11, 2020 10:27 pm

Didn't quite have time to finish.  There's supposed to be a chorus after each verse and at the very end that didn't get written yet and the vocal productions a bit rough too.  Maybe I'll finish this soon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you’ve been trying to find me
I’ve been away for so long
Folded away in the throes of yesterdays cessation
Trying to find where I went wrong

You look like you've got something  to tell me
Like you've got something on you're mind
Fighting a wave of unchanging momentum
That helps us keep these thoughts inside

Very nice, I really appreciate the synth and guitars, fun stuff.

I think it sounds pretty good as is, although I don't doubt you could improve it with a killer chorus.  Dig the overall sound and vibe of it though.

I really enjoy the sound of the guitars in the verse. There's a really nice kind of bounce to them. Really like the overall feel of the track. Nice work. smile

Groovy work on the bassline! and especially on the unison between it and the synth bell at the 2:15 mark. big_smile

There is of course a 80s vibe, with the bass tone for instance. But it goes a bit beyond that. I like the bass lines, pretty fun. Nice solo to the end, beautiful sound.

Catchy intro! I like the synth melody a lot. It leads into the song nicely. Great work, even if you didn't get to add in the chorus as planned.

God damn I love shakers in 80s songs. Such a feel good track.

That's one amazing vocal performance already. Guitar performance too.

Vocal layering and production sounds awesome! I like those bright synthwave pads and synthy bass lines. Is that a real shaker egg in the percussion? Sounds very natural. Rippin guitar bass combo riffs on the outro, very nice!

The vocal mixing and the retro instrumentals are realllly reallly nice. And that guitar melody...amazing

Ooh, very nice. Love those synths. Excellent vocals, didn't really expect them to come, and what a treat when they do. Those synthy bass lines are tasty ... soaring guitar solo, got a strong one here smile

This is so cool! I absolutely love the intro, it's so light and colourful heart This is a track and a half, top notch stuff!

Thanks man!  I'm still getting nothing for the chorus, so who knows.  Might just leave it as is.

Thanks!  Yeah I threw that tremolo on last minute, definitely helps the guitars stand out.

I appreciate it man.  Definitely had fun with the bass on this song.

Thanks!  Yeah I was definitely going for the 80s thing on this one.

Thanks!  That corny little intro thing is what really kicked this one off.

Yeah totally man, the shaker was definitely not premeditated.  I could just hear that it needed to be in there after a playback.

Thank you!

Thanks man, much appreciated.  Nope, the shaker is just the logic drummer set to percussion.  Put a FET compressor on w/ soft clipping to help it pop out though.

Awesome man, glad you liked it.  Thanks!

Thanks!  Yeah I felt like I needed to track some vocals since it had been a little bit.

Thanks Hieme!  I definitely had fun with this one.

Your guitar leads always sound so good.  Like if I knew how to play guitar I'd be waving my hand up in the air (pick in mouth) with each phrase. Obviously I miss playing Rock Band on my 360 lol.  Cool synth line that leads into the guitar solo too.

Great stuff man. Honestly sounds fully formed already! That descending lick is catchy af too.
