Noise

If I spent nearly as much time on production this week as I did on getting high and writing riffs/messing with effects, then I think I could have molded this into a pretty wild song.  But oh well, it was fun and I might do something with it later.

Also, I grabbed a few free soft synths this week that I used on this track that I'd highly recommend if you dont already have.

Surge:  https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/
TAL-NoiseMaker: https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/429
Dexed (didn't use on this actually): https://www.audiopluginsforfree.com/dexed/

That's crazy how much good free stuff is available now to do some production. I was thinking of this, but a Yamaha dx7 was like 2000USD on the mid 80's... Now for 2000$, you can have a killer computer, a good midi controller and many free and some inexpensive softwares.

You've got the basis for something super cool here for sure.  It has a nice energy and some sweet textures.  I'll have to look into those synths.  You steered me well on that Iris2.

I know man, I've been so all about the free shit recently.  Its addictive.

Awesome man, glad you liked Iris!  Its super fun to design stuff on, I've been enjoying it as well.

Bummed out, I just found out that one of my fav thai places in Chi Jim Noodle closed. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to recreate their crispy wide panang curry noodles!

One day I'll get into the DX7, but I'm still learning the basics of sound design with the Jupiter 8 and Serum. Dexed is good though. This sounds different than your normal weekly, but I'm thinking the activities you mentioned contributed to that. Times are tough. I hear a lot of potential for this song, as it's already doing a lot of creative and crazy things.

Really sick riffs. Dexed is pretty cool imo. I don't know the science behind creating all these synth sounds from scratch but there are many patches online you can download to get pretty sweet sounds.

Fuckin rip it up my dood

The TAL stuff is great and IMHO underrated. I love their sampler and Bassline 101 synths.

Love the synths with the guitar when it comes in. Really nice sounds here.

Nice. I love the section from 3:00 when the guitar enters and all instruments fall into place.

I dunno, it's pretty wild. Good too.

Nice variety of synth sounds in this one.  Especially enjoyed that synth at the 2min mark where it got a bit more dancey.  The vibraphones were a nice way to push everything back together.

Hell yeah man! Really went all out with pulling together some wild tones. Super fun/intense track. The guitar and mallets are a nice counterbalance to the chaos of the synths.

I really like the noise, but I'm that kinda guy.  S H R E D

This is pretty fucking rad! Love the twisted noisy synth sounds. The middle bridge with guitar lead is a great transition.  And the lighter techno-pop last third is really cool. A tasty sonic smorgasbord!
