Trivial Pursuits

By cfurrow on January 26, 2014 9:31 pm

This is a tune I started sometime last year in Ableton with inspiration from Stereolab (one of my favorites). I was looking for something for this week and decided to flesh it out. I re-arranged what I had and added some guitars, synths and vocals. Once again, I used Auria for compression.

Cheers to those putting really good stuff on here...
...and finally thanks for the past comments.

Definitely can feel the Stereolab vibe here. good stuff.

What S.Chainsaw said, really great and the arrangement is fabulous.  Ah, mid to late-90's nostalgia! smile

On the Stereolab side of things, you may like this group: Adelaide's own little slice of SL-esque antics.  They disbanded in 2001, which makes me feel incredibly old.

Hey cfurrow!  I really dig this one.  Might be my favorite yet.  I like the vocal effects a lot along with the general Stereolab-ish-ness of it.  Keep it up, man.

I hear the stereolabness but i also hear a bit of sufjan stevens in how the melody kinda intertwines with itself.  Does that make sense? Maybe not but the track did smile good job!

NIiiice Farfisa tone and melody. Great droney feel--this could have gone on for 18+ minutes.

great stuff. you playing those drums? definitely feel the stereolab vibe. do you have a full band? cause you should.

These are drum samples from Ableton. I wish I had a drum kit, though. I don't have a band at the moment but thank you for saying I should!

I don't know Stereolab much so can't compare, but this is good! I like the spaced out synths and the voice. Nice work!

This is sick stuff. Really dreamy track. I must give Stereolab a listen sometime too.

these tunes....pure diamond-shaped banana-mushrooms. keep it coming!

oh yes. nailed it again smile

Thanks sooo much, everyone!! smile
