Culture Cruisers - Dub of the ancients

By Celio_Morya on April 19, 2026 5:24 pm

This week was, once again, overwhelming. Work took up most of my time, and inspiration was hard to find. By the time I had a moment to create, exhaustion had already set in—but I still managed to put something together.

What you’ll hear this week is a journey into an ancient world, inspired by our ancestors and their instruments, blended with the raw power of modern kick and bass and broken percussions and old Vedic chanting. It’s a kind of spiritual passage, guided by the sound of a mystical flute, emerging from a place where fatigue and persistence meet.

I hope you all enjoy this journey !

Big Juno Reactor vibes! Whatever happened to world music/techno fusion?

Once that crunchy synth came into the background I was hooked

Thank you !! happy you liked it !!! this week was really hard to pull out something

Ooof such a good mix!  The kick hits you in the chest and totally feeling the worldly Juno Reactor vibes with the flute.  An excellent head nodder of a beat that then had me swaying with the vocals.  Makes me wish I had a djembe or something percussive to drum along smile  Well done!

Thks bro ! Means alot 🙏

Mix is just pristine, sorry to open with something dry and technical but it really is! Nerd musician me is really impressed. This is a very cool track, kinda modern Enigma woth a lot more groove and a healthy edge of distortion.

I am familiar with overwhelming weeks/months/years and how they can drive creativity and I would say despite the overwhelming you are doing some amazing stuff. Great track heart

Thanks bro 🤘🙏

I know in your description you mentioned a lack of inspiration, I found this track to be very creative and inspiring to me.  The soundscape with the old school vibe but modern touches is done very well.  It was mentioned above about an updated Enigma, exact same thing came to my mind.  Fantastic stuff!

Thanks mate for the review !!! happy to hear that i can inspire someone , like others inspire me !!! happy you liked the mix of the old world and the new one , one of my things is to mix genders and try to create something fresh but at the very same time that pulls an old memorie!!!

As soon as the flute came in, it grabbed my ear. Damn, super cool!!!

This is what you come up with, when you're exhausted? Impressive. Love the flutish sounds and Enigma-esque percussions.

Ha ha sorry - in the last 90s/early 2000s there were a few electronic bands who would blend "world" music, usually African or Indian (sometimes Irish) folk music, rhythm, and other defining styles with techno. It was a very fun fusion of sounds that people seem to have drifted away from since then. It was very cool to hear your track, which reminded me of how much I enjoy that style!
