What are we to do?

By Calavera on January 3, 2020 11:43 pm

I'm trying to not be so precious with music, as eventually it just stops you making any. So as a way of combating this, I'm going to see how I go with weekly beats, it'll force me to pump out a sketch quickly without time to fuss over it for months on end. I also thought I'd try out lsdj 7.5.7, which has some awesome new features (but a little buggy at this stage).

Looking forward to hearing your tunes!

Thanks, that's one thing I wanna focus on a bit this year too, understanding composition and stuff a lot more.

I like when your songs have a half time swing in them that make me feel like i'm walking through a swamp.

The melodies in this are so great.

Swamp-swing

Nice work Calavera, nice layering within lsdj, shows your technical skill and mastery. love it.

You make the gameboy sound 10 times bigger,
Such Melody, always, and you always have such signature.

Whatever neurosis you've developed about making tunes I hope you come to ease at it all - Looking forward to hearing you in 2020!

glad you were able to bring this one back from the brink of death! it's got that classic calavera *crunch*

The double attack bass notes with slightly different tones are so hugeeeeee!

Really good programming on those arps

Really glad to see you tackling weeklybeats this year. Such a great start keep up the great work

How many kilos are on my back as I wander through this swamp? And do I have a Power Skeleton equipped?

Also, this track is great. It goes to some really nice places, especially at the end. Nice work!

happy to see you do weeklybeats !! this song sounds great, i especially like the lead melody and how it sits between everything else in the song

Great job. You call it a sketch, I call it raw. Either way, it really helps pushing one to finishing things.

Really nice melodic work, especially that fret-slide on the bass. I appreciate your comment about not being too precious too.

This is really cool! I nee to update to newer lsdj and try it out for sure.

Got stuck in LSDJ 4 dot something... Is that much different?
