recenter (nanoloop + charlatan VST)

By bryface on February 4, 2018 11:54 pm

I started off with a minimal pattern in nanoloop2, and not wanting to really go down the nanoloop route any further i decided to improvise a solo over top of it using charlatan VST (had to mess around quite a bit with the params to arrive at a workable PWM lead that left room for controlling vibrato via my keyboard's mod wheel).  ended up sounding a lot like Denkitribe's livejams that he used to do on youtube.

also discovered that spamming the octave up/down buttons while playing an arpeggio is a neat trick, as you'll see near the end.

anyway enjoy this meditative texture, i needed it this week as it ended up being pretty crazy busy and i need a chance to clear my head.

Love it! heart

Dope!

This is fucking awesome.

misread as "christian VST" and i had to think a bit about what that could be, but this is good and very c64 demoscene.

you didn't misread.  this VST doesn't allow sawtooth waveforms because they look like the horns of Satan

This is beautiful! also that octave up/down trick is dope.

Oh man, this is right up my alley. I really dig the sounds you've crafted, and just the right amount of effects on these squares to bring out their glory.

fantastic tune! Charlatan is very underutilized synth, in my opinion big_smile a joy to play with

Hot beat and I am loving that lead synth!
