experimentator (M8 + electric guitar)

By bryface on February 27, 2022 11:59 pm

I picked up over the weekend:
- a Gretsch G2210 electric guitar
- a Fender Mustang Micro portable amp

So i spent a bit of time trying to integrate live takes of these into an M8 workflow via the Audio In jack.  I spent more time trying to figure things out and re-recording my crappy guitar skills than actually creating any appreciable amount of music but whaatteevvverrrrr.

This weekend was more about going through the Fender Musting Micro's onboard amp cab presets which are shockingly good for its surprisingly affordable price!  From a soundscape perspective i almost never consider/include electric guitar, and i realized i needed to see how i might integrate such a sound into my typically synthetic style and achieve something where the guitar sits well in the mix without overpowering everything else.

Drums are mostly samples, everything else is synthed. CLICKS INCLUDED

That's one of the coolest textures I've heard in a hot minute (almost literally). Well done!

Cool pairing, and succesful blend of the tones.
