W08: Everlast

'Everlast' combines long drones with subtle sci-fi arpeggios, creating an atmosphere that evokes the vastness of space. It's designed to slow down the perception of time, offering a backdrop for moments of reflection or meditation. It employs a semi-generative approach, using probability and pingpong playback for a sound that invites listeners to explore their own thoughts against a cosmic backdrop.

you defiantly accomplished what you set out to do for this week, and i love how long you made it instead of it being 2min, yours really opens up the thought mind set, cant wait too hear wht you come up with for week 9 smile

thank you! as opposed to properly composing a track from beginning to the end, for weeklybeats i try to create "performable chunks" of music as much as possible. one of my goals in ambient music is to turn "time" into an "abstract" concept so both me AND the listener is "less conscious of time". a natural byproduct of "performing"  and recording a "prepared" composition is "performer losing track of time", and that results in longer tracks smile
