W07: The Gentle Wane of Being

By boorch on February 16, 2024 10:51 pm

'The Gentle Wane of Being' delves into the quiet and gradual fade of memory and identity. It mirrors the complex emotions tied to observing a loved one navigate the challenges of cognitive decline, capturing the intertwining of sadness and acceptance. This composition reflects on the subtle, often unnoticed moments of change, emphasizing the serene grace found in coming to terms with the inevitable. It's an homage to the resilience of the human spirit, acknowledging the gentle release into a peaceful unknown that marks our most profound journeys.

Deluge recorded into cassette.

Thank you for making this. I was going to start all goofy saying "Hey, it's my M8 friend!" but then I started listening to the song and read your description. This is profound and, as someone who is dealing with a close relative suffering from early onset dementia, this hits home quite deeply. This is beautiful, emotional and gut wrenching. Your song really does capture and convey the feeling you described in your text above. The long tail of noise at the end is also very moving. Lovely work and, again, thank you for making this. I hope you, your family and loved ones are well.

Oh man I want to put drums behind that beautiful atmosphere and melody. So good.

love the complexity and texture. sorry to hear what you're going through. music can be a great therapy to create and to listen to
