W06: Cargo Run

By boorch on February 8, 2026 4:48 pm

I feel like this week's tune turned out to be (subconsciously) inspired by Eve Online (which is not the first time tbh), a game I was playing a bit more than a decade ago (which is still alive). It reminded me of times I did very long cargo runs and the unobtrusive soundtrack that was subtle but also communicating some sort of "progress" still. Again made using my own software Dronage Terminal.

I love creating random stuff with Dronage Terminal because I'm still fascinated by how melodies can be constructed with just quantised pitch modulation + euclidean sequencing, which sound unorthodox but I guess people have been doing it with eurorack for ages.

The glidey stuff fits really nicely into the soundscape to contrast against against it and the cleaner bass work! I might lack the vocabulary to pinpoint what it is, but something about the attack on the main ostenato synth is really satisfying too.

That's one beautiful ambient track. The droning synth has a really nice lo-fi quality to it. Great work

Very wide, very full. I was gonna say Privateer vibes before I read your post. Never played Eve Online, but the track does have futuristic ship yard tone. Enjoyed my time.

thanks all! i always forget to mention but this is direct output of Dronage Terminal. i just normalize it to -1.0dB and that's it
