Silence is a Virtue

Another acoustic track, in the style of Blighter's Rock.

I like the mix you did on your vocals here, it sounds different but I'm not sure in what way. Did you do more than two layers (with the exception of the harmonies)? Nice string arrangement wrapping up the end of the track.

Another nice singer songwriter track. Really like how you leave space after And if silence is a virtue…

It works so good.

And agreed with ViridianLoom about the strings at the end. It is a nice touch.

Love those guys

your lyrics always cut so deep, it's beautiful

Thanks. Just the two plus harmonies. I'm constantly experimenting (and getting better, I hope) with eq, compression and reverb. Nothing out of the ordinary here, maybe I just nailed the settings this week.

Thanks for listening! Glad you guys liked the strings! Sometimes you can't think of words to say, and you realize that not saying anything at all is just as powerful. Glad you liked that!

Thanks much Ebrit! I appreciate your feedback.

oh this is such a delicate and heartrending piece

I love love love love love the rhythmic structure of the vocals and the "implied silent last line"

amazing!  you are so creative.

I actually just got back from a 3.5 day silent retreat so this title absolutely grabbed me!

beautiful harmonizing.  well done.

there is a super super super loud power punk version of this somewhere in the universe, waiting for you to record it!!!!!

Holy cow, I can't imagine being silent for that long. Did you write a lot of things down during that time? I bet your brain was bursting with things to say by the end. I know mine would be.

Funny you mention the loud punk version of this. After it was written, I was debating whether to record as acoustic or give it the full band treatment. In the end the lazy members of the band won the day. But in the parallel universe where I made the other decision, I bet that track rocks.
