Love Explosion

Congrats everyone on making it a quarter of the way! This week is short and sweet for me.

Lots of compression on this one. I had fun making the drums sound monstrous.

Credit for the solo guitar once again goes to my buddy theaeon. One of these days we'll get him here on WB, but until then I'll just keep featuring him on my songs.

I feel lame to always be drawing parallels to video games but the production quality and that guitar riff in particular really make me thing of Hades, haha. I really like the overall sound with the tight compression. Vocals on this are particularly good too, among my favorite this year. Short and sweet definitely, and theaeon's guitar solo was super tasty.

My only wish is that this track was longer, but I guess that's what repeat is for! But seriously I was nodding along immediately. I love the gigantic airy sound of everything on this one. Especially how that kick's boom continues to echo well after the initial hit is over.  The lyrics and vocal performance fit really well together. Not your average love lyrics; a little dark actually! Theaoen's guitar solo was soaring in both tone and phrasing.

highly relatable!

That snare!!! Killer. I love the folk roots of this. Acoustic guitar sounds great too. You give us some serious quality tracks this year. smile

Thanks! Shitloads of compression. That's the secret to making everything sound better. Shitloads.

(shitloads of ) compression, reverb, and a 1/4 note delay on the drums. Thanks so much! The highest compliment is when someone wants to hear it again.

Compliments on the drum sound are high praise coming from you. Yours is always so good. Thanks so much!

SO MAD when I saw the track length smile

I love your lyrics and your little tricks and surprises // "area codes" line was great.

theaeon rules!

congrats on 1/4th!

This song just sounds so good, the vocals are clean, the drums are strong and the guitar is amazing

The lyrics are hilarious. Great production - it sounds like you're beating these drums like crazy, in the middle of the grand canyon. The accoustic guitars are nice. Tasty guitar solo there with interesting notes and nice tone.

Thanks so much! Being that the song is so short, I spent an inordinate amount of time twiddling knobs and trying different production things.

Glad you liked it! I'm in the Grand Canyon state, so I suppose it's quite fitting that the drums fit the part. I'll pass along the kind words about the solo.

guitar solo did it for me! and the big big drums too!

great little song! short and to the point, the perfect representation of indie music making!
