I Don't Know What We're Yelling About

Week 10, now into double digits. Feels like a nice milestone. The waypoints will keep coming quickly now. Almost 1/4 through!

I think I might have recorded a guitar solo in a different key than the song, but I don't know enough music theory to say for certain. If anyone here knows wtf is going on, please let me know.

Very nice. I actually like the guitar solo quite a bit, it fits in and has a nice "story" to it.

Yeah you shifted into the parallel major briefly. It does fit nicely though. Theory is only a framework to start with, far from a set of rules.

Sick song btw. I post here more for myself than for the community, but you've been so loyal I wanted to give your stuff a gander as well smile

Yeah I won't comment on every track but. Your mixes are definitely improving week over week. The vocals, harmonies, and other performances remain great

Such a cool song. It got everthing a good rocking song needs. Including a solo that feels edgy, but not the wrong key I think. Very good job.

Love the synth and distortion on vocals!

Drum Beat and tone is great too. I would have taken a little more of the bass on the mix. Still very well done, mix is clear.

Sorry I'm late to commenting, but I listened to the solo again and I think it sits fine on top of the rhythm section. Even if the solo is playing in a different key, mostly when you do hit the notes that are in a different key you're emphasizing them pretty dramatically, so the solo is drawing attention to it's melodic motifs rather than the relationship of that motif to the chord progression.
Anyways, there are no wrong notes, only dope notes.

This! A drummer friend of mine would say "if you screw up once, it's an error. If you make the error twice, it's JAZZ". It's all about the authority you use when playing these notes. smile The solo did sound good against the track! Good rock song.

I love the energy behind the burning chorus, so hot~

congrats on #10!

the harmony on "to the ground" is so good.  as well as the little time-skip to get back to the 2nd verse.

i like the switch up on the solo but maybe we can do that music theory course and finally figure out what happened smile

great fade out on the vocals as they people were burned in the FIRE

great work buddy!

Great stuff, as always. Dig the fx on the vocals and sound on the solo too!
