Fireflies

I'm back!

I wrote a snippet of the chorus while I was on vacation. I've been humming it to myself for a while. Yesterday I spent a ton of time trying to figure out the tempo and rhythmic pattern of the song. Wow, it was a waste of a day. Had to throw away everything I recorded. I woke up this morning and when I got in the shower, it all sorta presented itself to me in my head.

I really love the chorus and the verses, but the intro part is really generic, and doesn't quite fit. I think this will be an album track if I can find something better for that intro.

Other than that, I am super-duper happy with how this turned out.

Blighters Rock is back in the saddle, woot! Been missing your full arrangements but it's awesome you continued to record acoustic stuff on the road. This is definitely a radio-worthy song, great job on the verse and chorus hooks. I like those little melodic details like the guitar riff that pops up at the end of a sung line in the verse (like at 1:32). Oooo that section around 2:05 is especially gnarly, particularly that chord at 2:14 sounds especially spicy in a great way. Nice alteration on the chorus to convert it into an outro.

soooo good! epic fun with this dash of daring bravado as those guitar chords pound an accent to the general uplifting feelz here heart

Good grief, this was playing in the background and I was mentally trying to place what band this was from (and when it would have come out) until I remembered I was still listening to the WB playlist.

Great job―in this case, I guess "sounds legit" is an understatement. tongue

That snare packs loads of punch!

Solid pop punk track. I really dig that. The vocals harmonies are great. Composition is really good.

Thanks for sticking with me through the summer! All your comments helped me along.

Thanks Raja! I love the "bravado" description.
