Frozen Waterfall Morning

Tried two new things on this one:

1) Learned about the I - vii sus 2 progression that Disasterpeace used in FEZ via this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkAl3It8sEQ&t=130s) and tried that out in the beginning.

2) Downloaded a demo of the Valhalla Shimmer Reverb (https://valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/) and tried it out on that main lead melody. Pretty lush sound. Might drop the $50 to get it. Again this is a pretty similar reverb to what is found in NI's Massive which is what Disasterpeace used on FEZ.

I had to look up all those references on the internet. Nice progression and melody. Like when it picks up in the last third. Very hopeful and anthem-ic

Thanks! "Anthem-ic" is my go to wink

That switch-up towards the end is just what was needed. Overall excellent. And thanks for the I - vii (sus2) tip.

Definitely very Disasterpeace-y, with that shimmering lead and wide open reverb soaking everything.

Gotta have the switch up.

Yeah the Valhalla Shimmer really just drenches everything. I think it's great on leads or on everything if you really want that ambient wide-open feel. I don't think I'll use it as much on the upbeat parts like the end.

This is what happens when disasterpiece gets a drum. Nice progressions will only get you so far, so it's very much appreciated.
