Corpse Grinder

By BarristerPlong on February 7, 2026 6:55 am

This week submission is all on the M8 using only the wavsynth. What started as an exercise in sound design very quickly became a catchy loop and eventually what we have here today. It turned out pretty good, I'm definitely not happy with the lead in the second section, but I became irritated tweaking it and finding nothing so I left it. I had intended to make it a 2 section sequence similar to most NES music though wound up making a third because I liked the descending arpeggios enough I wanted to give them time.

This one goes out to the Corpse Grinder cults of Necromunda. Keep reaching for that rainbow.

Those leads, the counter melody, the panning!

This is SICK!!!

Siiiiiiiiiick, great job!

This was SICK - panning was crazy on this smile

So so powerfulđź«

Crunchy snare is heart

On the one hand, it wasn't totally what I was expecting from the title, but on the other hand why wouldn't you want to listen to some tasty synth jams while grinding corpses?  Dig the big epic sound.

Damn, I feel I am on a blade movie, dancing on a club with vampires and about to witness some vampire slayer massacre!!!

Very cool.

EPIC

This is dope! The arpeggios really carry everything together nicely. heart all the crunchy basslines in this. Also all the leads sound pretty great to me smile

The augmented chords in the arps are so good! Love the bass swells and the crushed drum groove, and the lead tone ~2:45 is a great middle ground between the bright arps and the dark rhythm section. Hell yeah

This is absolutely one of my favorite tracks of WB26

we keep reaching, and then out of the blue we realize the rainbow was reaching for us all along
MAGIC

those arps helped me submit some billing claims this afternoon, cheers!

Psychotic gore soaked corpse mongers need to party too.

That bassline from the Blade movie shaped a LOT of how I think about 303 lines. High praise! Thank you!

Thank you! I typically overpack the track and need to really let each section shine on its own. I'm happy with how the progression of this track worked out.

Very hypnotic groove.  I love that pulsing kind of pad sound that really hits and supports the arp at like ~1:50. This is the kind of track that's hard to sit still while it plays, awesome stuff.

This track is amazing start to finish. The sound design itself (all Wavsynth??) is brilliant from bass to rhythmic pads to lead, but this track is 100% banger and energises me to the point where I wanna DO stuff.

Fantastic sound design and awesome title, love that lead at 2:45, not sure if that’s the one you weren’t happy with, sounds great to me.

amazing work as usual

Thank you! The pad is actually the reverb and delay being modulated.

Hell yeah! Wavsynth only was a lot of fun. Highly recommend it!

Thank you! Yes, that was the lead I was unhappy with, but it sounds fine now. I think when you're in the thick of it for hours on end you start to nitpick a lot.

Where my corpses at, this beat got me Ready To Grind

Love that swoopy lead that comes in around :55! This track goes hard.

Great track! Amazing sound design and doing it all with the wavsynth must’ve been a fun challenge cool

This is awesome. I especially love that first arp that goes up by a note earlier than expected, this makes it so interesting

Yes, that lead is my favorite too so I made it come back in the final section! Thanks for listening!

It was! Limitation really forces you to be creative and think about instruments differently. Thank you!

Oh yeah that bass is huge. Love the arps. Reaching and riding that rainbow. The skellingtons raving up there got it!

I like the juxtaposition of bit crushed snare with the pure synth tones.  Those M8s always have a great tone it seems.
Old school vibes going on here.

The drums turned out great. The snare is actually just a noise oscillator with a little quick pitch envelope.

Nice one!  Worked a treat.  I usually use a modulated complex oscillator or FM and they can bring that element of noise.

Hell yeah, getting a bit of a Metroid Prime vibe from the lead

oh man that freaking bassline really kicks in, awesome

The second lead, then that arpeggio.... amazing layers dude I'm getting Zelda 2 mixed with Knight Rider XD

and then the first lead reprise! yes! wonderful
