The Signal's Ruin

By Barham Beireis on January 4, 2026 10:27 pm

First one. It's been a minute since I've done a weekly beats challenge, and track for that matter. It Feels good to dive back into this. This started off as a data bent sound from Audacity and after much sampling, sequencing, resampling, re-sequencing, more resampling and a few more passes of all of that we arrived here. Thanks for the listen! I'm super excited for next week!

Data bending! Nice. I was wondering about sound design. Makes sense now. Great result.

nasty in the best way possible. LOVE IT!

Wow super neat. I really liked how it kind of defied my expectations.

holy moly, this is so insane
sounds like it is coming from inside of my brain

do you actually know that it's going to sound like this, or do you just keep experimenting until you get something neat?

Great SFX, perfect for a cinematic scene

Hey, thank for the comment! I think both, to your question. I will have source material that I want to start with and will definitely have a place I want take it. I have a process that gives me a good idea on where it’s gonna take me. But, if something interesting emerges, I will pursue that as well.

I'm a big Autechre & Ben Frost fan so I live for this stuff.  I'd like to learn how to make it one day.

Great tones here!  I love how they bubble to the surface and then decay near instantly blended with elements of rhythm.

This is great! I heard your week 5 track and loved it, so I decided to go back into your catalog and listen to your other stuff. Fantastic glitchy noise goodness
