Tricks

I tracked most of this a week ago, and then had a busy week hosting my sister from out of town. So it's not as finished as I'd like it to be. I have a strong suspicion I will be feeling the same way about most or all of my uploads...

I decided to try for a straight up dance tune. I listen to a fair bit of techno/house but have never tried to emulate the style before now. It was a lot more fun than I anticipated.

After I dropped it into Landr for mastering, I had to go straight back in and EQ it again. It still could do with a lot more tweaking. As an acoustic musician, I've never had to trouble myself much with sound tech. There's so much to do and learn.

Tools: Ableton Live with various software synths and Roland Gaia.

I wonder what it would sound like without any of the drums.

Wow. Deep.  I always have dug the Roland Gaia for it's sounds

That arp totally makes it. Well recorded/mixed/mastered!

Fun track that makes me want to get up and move around.  Production sounds nice and crisp to my ears, but I always feel like I have to tweak stuff after running it through LANDR, too.

reminds me of LFO in a positive way...great vibe!

Love the chords, the beefy kickdrum and the tight groove!

yiss yisss yisss nabbed

Head bobbing! love the arp and that bass. I'm fairly new to electronic production as well after being acoustic musician, there really is so much to learn, a good lifelong journey!

These arps + harmony + sound design are super crisp heart

This arp is a silver divided into small pieces resembling chocolate candies.

beautiful!

For a first try with dance tunes it ended up really well

I don't know if I'm allowed to teach any tips but now you should try more with arranging the piece, muting the kick, implementig fills once a few bars and do small build-ups to introduce new parts joining the drum-orchestra. I'm looking to follow your progress in next 50 weeks and hope to see more dance tunes.

Hmmm bass line held it down.
Like the dude said above, would like to see what this year has in store for you....
