Whoa, the arrangement seemed to just swell up from nowhere.  Digging the power of all those voices going in and out of dissonance around the 1:30 mark.   cool

That's a good goal, though doing some sounds design in the middle might help with composing, give the interments some character and personality so you can be pulled by their desires of where they want to go.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. At certain point I decided to intentionally lean out of scale sometimes and see what kind of controlled chaos would emerge.

Indeed, you're describing a healthy approach there, but in this case I wanted to set myself a formal challenge to see if anything useful came out of composing the notes first, and I definitely went somewhere I wouldn't have otherwise. My natural tendency is to reach for sound design first, so it's healthy for me to shake things up sometimes.
