Blooming Again

By Ashtom on August 2, 2020 10:49 am

After the darker mood of last week, I came up with a more uplifting b-side to it. I'm not sure why but I got to relisten to some old school house and deep house records of mine and felt like merging that vibe to my current style to see where it goes. I guess it's kinda subtle in a way but it makes me feel like something original (maybe it's not and there is actually a whole subgenre that I'm not aware of, hehe).

On the technical side, I'm still using the Deluge (and getting more and more comfortable with it) but I find it more and more challenging to polish the mix with it and I'm eyeing more and more on a multi-track recorder to export them all in a DAW for better control of each instrument.

Also, I recently bought Ozone 9 Elements from Izotope to do a bit of mastering on my tracks. I'm far from being good with it but it's better than nothing I guess.

Have a nice week!

Really different from your usual stuff, but I really enjoyed this. The melody line is really great. smile

Shoutouts to Ozone!  I'm going to buy 9 soon and take a class on it.

Does the Deluge have internal EQ/compression options?

Glad you enjoyed it! That melody is now stuck in my head!

I?m must admit I mostly used the mastering assistant first and then tinkle a bit with it. If you have a good class to recommend, that might be useful to me!
The Deluge has a per instrument 3-bands EQ and the closest thing to a compressor is the sidechain effect (which is also per instrument).
