Beyond The Horizon

By Ashtom on May 17, 2020 8:19 pm

Another difficult week for music inspiration. I get to spend most of my creative juice on game dev these days and when comes Sunday I find it hard to come up with a good idea for a track. In the end, I keep jamming longer than usual to find something decent to record. At least, I can do it while chilling on my sofa, which is not the worst, thanks for the battery-fueled Deluge for that!
Thanks again for your feedback and let's hope for better musical days.

The mix is great and I enjoyed the vibe of this piece.

Even your uninspired work on the Deluge is pretty inspiring for people like me who are just starting out with it. I like the laidback feel of this track. smile

By the way, any tips for expanding on kit sounds for the Deluge?

I'm glad I could inspire someone with it, thanks for letting me know!
I'm not the most experienced in sample kits in general. The Deluge is kind of the first piece of hardware where I really use samples with. That being said, most of the samples I used are coming from the Ghosthack Ultimate Producer Bundle 2019. You can find their latest bundle here https://www.ghosthack.de/upb2020/. I mostly use their drum samples but they have some cool sonic textures too.
Let me know if I can help you with any tip about the Deluge, I'd be happy to share!

Lots of good beats and variations.  At first I get a strong OMD vibe but then some dissonance comes in that shifts darker.  Keep on chillin with the Deluge... you're getting good results!

Nice! I always thought a Deluge was just a sequencer for other things; didn't realize that it had synth engine of its own. Chill vibe with this one.

The L/R traveling of the tone starting at like 1:40 made it really active feeling. Relaxing but not sleepy. Dig it.
