Track for the 58th

By Ashen Simian on April 28, 2024 6:15 pm

a rather long track, almost 7 mins. I firstly decided to make some relaxing soundscape background ambience for 45 mins for my personal use. I did it and for theis weeks track, I took the same midi tracks, put the tempo up with 40 more bpms, created a bass line and drum tracks and improvised a couple of takes over the top, with my Elka String machine and a Kawai 100p monosynth. And the result was more like melodic techno.

This is right out of a 70's synth time capsule. The sounds are lusciously retro and the way everything unfolds and plays is quietly purposeful. It kinda reminds me of Roger Joseph Manning's "Logan's Sanctuary" concept album.

I enjoyed the sounds throughout, but I think my favorite part was starting around 4:10.  The lead synth sounds really cool there.

Hey, thanks! Yes, many of the synths here are from the 70´s indeed. Must check out that Logan´s Sanctuary thing, sounds interesting.

Thanks! This has a quite nice flow and I will definetly make new overdubs there when I have more time. Now it is a bit half baked, but some nice themes there I will definetly use again. The synth leads you like is Kawai 100 P. It is completely unsung japanes preset lead synth from the mid 70´s, but it has actually become my Swiss Army Knife for lead work. It has that very nice, bendy sound that cuts right thru the mix but is not too annoying.
