For Florian

By Ashen Simian on May 24, 2020 4:56 pm

A short track for the memory of Florian Schneider-Esleben, the founder of Kraftwerk. Probably the most important electronic pop outfit ever. I saw KW live three times, two times with Florian in the line up. Great memories!

This is my modest musical memorial for the man; he deserves better, but this is what I could do in the very limited time slot for music I had this week. I am terribly behind with commenting the music of the others, but will make up for it in the summer...

Gear: Roland TR808, Minimoog, Yamaha CS-15 and -30, Korg MS10, Roland Juno 60 + mellotron samples and a bits from german news

i think you captured their sound really nicely! vale florian, he's riding his bicycle w/ the gods now heart

Krafwerk are definitely hugely influential and important and way ahead of their time.  I'm jealous you got to see them three times.  I bet that was awesome!  I think Florian would appreciate your tribute.  It's obvious the love and respect are there.

Well that's just sad. A nice tribute with a great progression.

Great tribute. You really nailed the vibe and the synths. Especially the bass synth and 808 drums. Beautiful pads and lofty melodic leads.
