Sadness Surrendered

By As_Yoesual on March 3, 2024 7:38 pm

I started this track last sunday in relation to how I felt, my tinnitus was getting worse and it has been affecting my mood.

To make matters worse, on Monday the tinnitus flared up to around 80-100db (and around 8900hz) and has yet to dissapear.
Went to see the doctor, hospital, and more. Barely slept this week due to it.
I just had to surrender myself to my sadness and this sound.

I finally slept a bit this morning and really wanted to submit something, anything.
Im loving the different sounds and textures in this track, but --sadly-- I wont have the time or mindset to really get it where I want it to be.

I... am not sure if I'll be able to keep making music, let alone keep submitting to WB but I am sure as hell going to try.

Protect your ears, keep them healthy, keep them clean, and if you just as much think you have an ear infection.... go get medication.

so sorry this is happening to you, i get the frustration. the track is a delight though, glad you are still making and sharing music! you've got this!

Oh man, the tinnitus getting worse is awful to hear! I'm so sorry. Developing hearing issues is a big worry of mine.

The track definitely conveys the mood. I'm surprised you were able to develop almost 8 minutes. The arp building after the breakdown at 4:30 puts this in motion. Love that.

So sorry to hear this, I cant imagine what it must be like to live with this. The track is great, I love the progression and deep bass, keep doing what you love.

i have permanent tinnitus in my left ear, my empathy for your struggle. (i understand your experience is harder than i can imagine too(mine sounds more slight than yours)... i also really don't like that area around 8500-10000 Hz, often notch somewhere around 9500 out completely in my music, my condolences for the particular frequency you're experiencing - it shouldn't effect your musical production especially if you can find a visual eq: no one will miss detail you forgo paying attention to in that range... but i do understand it's also a generally distracting experience - meditation helps with that part of it, too, like turning all challenges into opportunities, but take that with a grain of salt-> i don't know exactly what you feel, and you know what's best for you in how you'll be able to deal)
don't give in too much to your thoughts, though: music-making is about how you feel, not how you hear, if you feel it, we will too. don't even worry about that, it's already in you to do this, so it always will be. this track shows that really well, keep doing what you feel: hearing and seeing is just a matter of feeling, because only the feelings matter when it comes to truly believing in yourself.

(^haha, words fail me: i feel somewhat preachy now, but... just thinking of words of encouragement i'd give myself if/when i face similar conditions, to see the larger picture heart)

the track is fire! *double-fist-pumpz*
