Mating Call

By As_Yoesual on April 21, 2024 10:27 pm

Have you ever heard/read about the Kauai?
It's an extinct bird, and it so happens that someone recorded the mating call from the last bird to ever live.
Because there is no mate, its call does not get a response, resulting in eerie silences where its mate is supposed to reply. It is such a beautiful yet sad sound.
here is a link to the story and its song:

Ever since I heard of it, the sound and story have been stuck in my head.
This inspired me to create "Mating Call," in which a mystical creature called a "Portal Bird" calls for its mate.
I guess it's for you to find out if there is a response to its call.

Not sure why btw, but something went haywire after Ilok decided to f**k up again and disabled all the plugins its managing. Even after rebooting Ableton it felt.... different than before.
But I am tired, I feel rushed, and well.. yea. "Good enough for now" has been my mantra for a while, so *shoves it towards weeklybeats* hehe.

Hell yeah. Love this punchy driving vibe. Super cool.

Also, that story is amazing and super sad. I came across it a few years ago, and have a half-finished track sitting around that uses the sample, but it didn't really do it justice. I like your re-imagining of it. Getting spine tingles just thinking about it.

Sorry for the late reply. I also have that sample lying around, hoping to one day find a good use for it.
Hopefully you'll find one as well smile
